3x hiking near Lake Garda

Lake Garda is a favorite holiday destination for many. Whether you love water sports, the charm of cozy villages, or delicious food, you will find it all here. You will also find all kinds of hiking opportunities around Lake Garda. From relaxed walks along the shore to challenging hikes to beautiful viewpoints. We have listed our 3 favorite places to hike.

From the small village of Malcesine, you can take the cable car to Monte Baldo, a mountain massif on the eastern side of Lake Garda. The Funivia del Baldo takes you to an altitude of 1800 meters in a few minutes. Various hiking routes start from the mountain station, the most challenging of which reaches an altitude of over 2200 meters. Some options include:

  • Ascent and descent of 170 m

  • From the village to the mountain station of the cable car

  • Climb 1815 meters

On the western side of Lake Garda, you will find, among other places, the picturesque Limone Sul Garda, a charming town nestled right against a mountainside. Just north of this, you will find one of the most beautiful viewpoints at Lake Garda, namely Punta Larici. To reach this viewpoint, drive to the village of Pregasina. The hike starts here from the parking lot by the church. There are two options: 

Whichever option you choose, in both cases you will cover approximately 360 vertical meters. Once you arrive at Punta Larici, you will be treated to a phenomenal view of Lake Garda.
