That varies by accommodation. In Italy, wearing a swimming cap is indeed mandatory at some pools, usually to keep the water clean and clear. Other locations are a bit more flexible about this and leave it up to the guests.

In theory yes, but in practice we do not recommend it. Italy is a beautiful but vast country. Our accommodations are often located precisely in those quiet, green spots where you can hear the crickets and count the stars at night, and these are usually not around the corner from a train station.

Public transport often takes you to a nearby town or village, but after that, things get tricky. Buses run infrequently, taxis are scarce, and walking with suitcases along country lanes is… well, an adventure in itself.
