Wellness in Italy
Experience Italy with Wellness
Feeling good in your own skin, finding peace and relaxation, and leaving everyday stress behind – we are talking about Wellness, Spa, Thermal Baths, Thalasso, or whatever else it is called. Turning your holiday into a wellness vacation in Italy is like a dream. You enter the Valhalla of thermal baths, natural springs, and hot springs, whether or not located in a cave where the ancient Romans and Etruscans also sought relaxation. The healing power and therapeutic effects of the water and mud baths from the various springs are widely recognized.
Emilia-Romagna
From Salsomaggiore to Riccione, in Emilia-Romagna you have a choice of numerous spas. For centuries, the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines have been known for their hot springs. The small town Porretta Terme has succeeded in establishing one of the best spa destinations in the region around these hot springs.
Lazio
One of the jewels of this region is Viterbo, an old city full of charm and history. But what perhaps makes Viterbo famous everywhere are the hot springs, including the Bullicame, Carletti, and San Sisto springs. Would you prefer a private spa at your accommodation? At Villa Colle Galli You have access to your own 100 m² spa.
Le Marche
This region is crisscrossed by many waterways, from the Apennines to the Adriatic coast, including near Acquasante Terme. In addition to streams, waterfalls, and a gorge, an old natural spa can also be found near Acquasante Terme: Lu Vurghe. The Fire is a natural hot spring with sulfurous water and is freely accessible.
Liguria
In addition to a long coastal strip, there are also several thermal baths located in Liguria. The western part, west of Genoa, in particular, has multiple thermal baths. Near San Remo, you can enjoy the semi-warm sulfurous water from the thermal baths of Pigna. In Diano Castello, the thermal baths of Eira (with an increased iron concentration) and a stone's throw from Genoa are the thermal baths of Acquasanta.
North Italian Lakes
To the north of Lake Garda, near the Swiss border, lie the thermal baths of Bormio (Therme Di Bormio). This thermal park is located close to the ski slopes and, thanks in part to the hot springs, is definitely worth a visit, especially in winter.
Piedmont
The most famous wellness destination in Piedmont is undoubtedly Acqui Terme in the province of Alessandria. Acqui Terme is known for its 35 natural springs: from the springs at the Bormida river to the springs of Bollente. But there are also numerous options in other provinces, including Agliano Terme in Asti, Royal Baths of Valdieri in Cuneo and Acqua Vanzonis in Verbano.
Puglia
Santa Cesarea Terme, in the extreme south of Puglia is the ultimate wellness destination in Puglia. The natural hot springs of Santa Cesarea Terme are rich in sulfur, iodine, and sodium chloride. They rise through the porous rock from deep underground and in a number of caves. The water is said to aid in the treatment of arthritis, rheumatism, and respiratory ailments.

There are countless possibilities; take a dip in the ice-cold water of the Catafurco waterfall, travel to the island of Vulcano for a mud treatment, or walk through the Stagnone nature reserve in Marsala, where various saltwater pools (three times saltier than seawater) are located. The possibilities are innumerable.
Tuscany

Umbria
The ancient Romans attached great importance to the care of body and mind. It is therefore not surprising that various excavations of thermal buildings have been found in the Umbrian Valley. Today, the Franciscan baths can be visited in San Felice Terme. With a focus on nature, well-being, and health, the centuries-old Roman spa traditions are continued here. Would you prefer to walk directly into the wellness area from your villa or apartment? It is possible at the Valle di Assisi Resort.
