Cala di Falco Resort
The Cala di Falco Resort is located on the northernmost part of the famous Costa Smeralda, the north east coast of Sardinia. It is a spacious holiday park with a swimming pool, 2 restaurants, a pizzeria, bar, tennis court and beach volleyball court. In short, a holiday park for a complete spring, autumn or summer holiday on the most beautiful island in Italy!
The holiday park is located in the north of Sardinia in the Olbia-Tempio region. The center of Cannigione with a beautiful view of the Arzachena coastline is within walking distance of the holiday park. This fishing village with restaurants, shops, ice cream parlors and bars can be reached on foot.
The resort offers a hotel, apartments and a number of luxury holiday homes and villas. With the exception of the swimming pool, the facilities are shared with the guests of the associated hotel at the holiday park. The apartments have their own shared swimming pool
The apartments are built around the pool like a small village. The apartments are available in different types and all have a private terrace. At about 200 meters, on the other side of the road, is the Cannigione beach. Here is also a second swimming pool which is exclusively for the use of hotel guests and for a fee for guests of the luxury villas.
The holiday homes are all attractively furnished in Mediterranean style, using high-quality materials. The houses offer a lot of privacy with a private terrace and are surrounded by beautifully landscaped green gardens, some of which have a sea view. As a tenant of a holiday home you can use the facilities of the hotel, for some facilities a surcharge applies. For example, the holiday homes do not have a swimming pool, but you can use the swimming pool of the nearby hotel for a fee.
The La Poiana restaurant is the main restaurant of the resort and serves local dishes in the form of a daily buffet. During the day you can also have a delicious lunch here. From the à la carte restaurant La Terrazza, the view of the Bay of Cannigione and the island of Caprera is phenomenal! This restaurant is open a few evenings a week and is subject to reservation. Italian and especially Sardinian specialties are served in both restaurants. In the pizzeria you can enjoy a delicious pizza.
The beach 'Cannigione' across the road is ideal for families with children. The beach slopes gently into the sea and the fine sand is great for playing. If desired, you can rent a parasol with two sunbeds for approx. € 10 per half day. There is also a shuttle service (approx. € 5 p.p.p.r.) from the holiday park to the beaches Barca Bruciata and Mannena, located 3 kilometers away. Boat excursions to the La Maddalena archipelago, including Caprera Island, are organized daily. There is both a diving and a sailing school near the holiday park. All information about these excursions, any lessons and other outings in the area is available at the reception of the holiday park.

The Cala di Falco resort is located in the north of Sardinia in the Olbia Tempio region. The center of Cannigione with a beautiful view of the Gulf of Arzachena is within walking distance (approx. 100 meters) from the holiday park. This former fishing village with restaurants and various shops can be reached on foot or by car.
Sardinia is a paradise for water sports enthusiasts. Windsurfing, wave surfing, sailing, diving, it's all possible. A diving and sailing school can be found near the holiday park. All information about the lessons is available at the reception of the holiday park.
The coastal strip with a length of about 55 kilometers between Portisco and Baia Sardinia has been the most popular jet set in Sardinia and actually all of Italy since 1961. It is, of course, about the Costa Smeralda with its bustling seaside resorts, elegant shops and lively nightlife. Cannigione falls under the municipality of Arzachena, a few kilometers south are the most famous beaches of the Costa Smeralda; Porto Cervo, Poltu Cuatu, Liscia di Vacca, Capriccioli and Cala di Volpe.
Child-friendly beach: Cala Batistoni just 12 kilometers east of the holiday park. The clear blue water with the beach gently sloping into the sea is ideal for families with small children.
Palau with its lively night market is located 14 kilometers away. Ferries to the various islands of the La Maddalena archipelago also depart here. Self-guided boat excursions from Palau:
- Half Day Tour: The National Park of the La Maddalena Archipelago.
- Boat trip along Costa Smeralda including decadent harbor Porto Cervo.
Of the dozens of islands of the La Maddalena archipelago , 7 are inhabited: La Maddalena, Razzoli, Santo Stefano, Caprera, Santa Maria, Spargi and Budelli. All the islands of the archipelago are part of the nature reserve Parco Nationale Arcipelago di La-Maddalena. The largest island and also the most visited is La Maddalena. Caprera (the island where Garibaldi died) is a paradise for snorkelling enthusiasts and with a bit of luck you can also spot dolphins here!
Organized boat excursions (for a fee) from the port of the holiday park (>3 years):
- Half day excursion: the islands of the archipelago La Maddalena -Half day excursion: Palau with cozy shops and the possibility to sail to Caprera.
- Half day excursion: sea safari: fascinating boat trip along the national park between Caprera and Budelli to spot dolphins and other flora and fauna, among other things.
- Half day excursion: boat trip along the famous beaches of the Costa Smeralda.
- Full day excursion: boat trip to Corsica.
- Full Day Excursion: Mini Cruise on Vintage Sailboat
Taste the famous DOCG Vermentino di Gallura and the powerful reds of the DOC Cannonau at the famous wine estate 'Vigne Surrau' . The wine estate is about 17 kilometers from the holiday apartments, in the direction of Porto Cervo. The tour goes from the wine cellar, through the art gallery to the wine canteen where the wines can be tasted. In 1997, the Surrau brothers planted the first vineyards. The first harvest was in 2004. From that moment on, the wines are imported to countries all over the world.
19 Kilometers west of the holiday park is the windsurfing paradise called Porto Pollo (also known as Portu Puddu) with the adjacent island of Isola dei Gabbiani.
A few kilometers west of Porto Pollo are the vast sandy beaches of Santa Teresa, followed by the special peninsula of Capo Testa. Capo Testa is characterized by fascinating rock formations along idyllic bays. The rock spectacle is most beautiful during sunset. From the lighthouse on Capo Testa you can make wonderful walks along the various walking routes. Along the way it is indicated which flora and fauna is present in the area. During the walk, different animals can be imagined in the rock shapes. The perfect place for lovers of hiking, birdwatching, nature photography and epicureans.
In the summer months, the summer festival 'L'Estate Olbiese' takes place in the center of Olbia (approx. 30 km from the holiday park). A cultural festival with concerts, performances, lectures and cabaret shows. For culture lovers, the archaeological museum, the church of San Simplicia and the church of San Paolo in the historic center are certainly worth a visit.
The ferry leaves from Genova , Livorno or Piombino to Olbia. Sardinia can also be easily combined with Tuscany . For example, a child-friendly holiday park on the Tuscan coast or a pleasant agriturismo in the green hills of Tuscany.
You can fly to Olbia airport (30 km) from Amsterdam (Transavia, Easyjet and KLM) or Brussels (Ryanair), or to Alghero airport (150 km).
When you walk into the lobby you have a really beautiful view of the pool and the sea. It definitely has a bit of a wow factor. As we were there in late September the hotel was relatively quiet and there were always plenty of sun loungers. The pool bar was good with decent cocktails. The location is perfect with an easy walk to lots of bars and restaurants.
We were very happy with this resort. a beautiful large swimming pool, a lovely large villa with spacious terrace and garden. A lovely large room and beautiful and spacious bathrooms. The pool terrace overlooks the very beautiful bay. The sea and the beach and the village are right on the doorstep. We were also very happy that we could already check in at 11h00. Only remark, many staff members barely speak English, but that makes it really Italian.
Had a nice week in an apartment. We were four people and in theory it was a six person apartment with a sofa bed in the living room. Kitchen inventory was a bit limited (eg no kettle). Swimming pool in front of the door with daily supervision was ideal for the children. Received neatly on our early arrival, but the apartment was not ready yet. We would have to speed up, but we still had to wait about four hours. As compensation we did get a nice drink in the hotel bar. Apartment was clean and there were more than enough towels also large for the pool.
Beautiful location, warm and welcoming reception, everything is there for a wonderful holiday!
