Agriturismo Borgo Caterina is located in the quiet Sardinian countryside, 11 km from the city of Alghero. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind, but also to discover the city of Alghero and the north-western coast of Sardinia. Enjoy the landscape, the beautiful beaches, the unspoiled nature, and the delicious cuisine of the agriturismo
The agriturismo, besides offering accommodation, also has a 10 hectares working farm. The land produces fruit and vegetables, however half of it consists of vineyards, which deliver top quality DOC Sardinian wine, like the white Vermentino and of course Cannonau.
Depending on the season, you can come here to have a look behind the scenes of a real farm, or even roll up your sleeves and lend a hand. The main activities of the farm can be experienced by the guests such as grape picking, olive picking, vegetable cultivation; the entire process from start to end product can be experienced. Then it is of course time to taste! In addition, it is possible to pick vegetables from the garden for personal use, such as tomatoes, courgettes, peppers, and basil.
The agriturismo has 4 apartments and 6 rooms. All accommodation types have their own entrance and veranda with seating overlooking the garden and / or the vineyard. The spacious, well-kept garden has a swimming pool with a sun terrace. There is also a football field and a playground for the kids. The agriturismo is known for its own restaurant, where you can eat typical Sardinian dishes, which we cannot recommend you highly enough! It is delicious typical food, prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients, according to Sardinian traditions. The menu changes regularly. A good glass of good wine from vineyard next to the agriturismo will certainly not be missing. Every morning you can enjoy a good breakfast (€).
Borgo Caterina is open all year round, a great choice for couples but also suitable for families with children looking for a small-scale farm-stay for a stop during a tour of Sardinia.

The agriturismo is close to the town of Fertilia, which is a characteristic small fishermen village with plenty of interesting shops and restaurant, and the international airport of Alghero Fertilia. The closest beach is the beautiful Maria Pia beach, located between Alghero and Fertilia. Maria Pia beach is known for its fine sandy beach and the crystal clear waters which only get deep after 5 meters, making it perfect for families with kids.
Alghero
Borgo Caterina is about 10 minutes by car from Alghero’s airport. Alghero is located between the sea and a green hinterland of olive trees and vineyards, and various boat trips are offered from the harbour. Alghero’s characteristic Old Town, or Centro Storico in Italian, is certainly worth a visit. We highly recommend a visit to one of the excellent fish restaurants in the historic harbour. If you stay in the city long enough, you will be face to face with a spectacular sunset before you know it. Can you picture it already? The old buildings of Alghero slowly glow in the light of the orange sun setting… the picture-perfect picture for a romantic holiday, isn’t it?
Nuraghe
The Nuraghe (or Nuraghes in plural) are mysterious towers that were built in the Bronze Age in Sardinia. The Nuraghes can be found all over the island and are among the most important and yet mysterious archaeological heritage of the Mediterranean area. The Nuraghe Palmavera can be visited in the vicinity of the Agriturismo Borgo Caterina. These are among the most famous Nuraghes that can still be visited, together with those of Su Nuraxi (on the World Heritage List of Unesco) and the Nuraghe Losa in Abbasanta.
Nettuno’s Cave
Near Alghero, there is the world-famous cave 'Grotta di Nettuno', literally the Cave of Neptune. This cave is considered the most beautiful of the more than 300 caves present in Sardinia. The cave can be reached by stairs, but easier with a boat trip that leaves from Alghero’s harbour. In half an hour you sail along the Porto Conte bay towards the Capo Caccia. The highlights of the boat trip are an inland saltwater lake, Lago Lamarmora and the Sala delle Trine e dei Merletti. You can take remarkable photos here!

Nice, quiet place to stay for a few days. Accommodation is fine. Lovely swimming pool with sun loungers (in our case 20 meters from our studio). Many excursions in the area are possible. Restaurants just steps away. Owners speak good English.
The location of the accommodation is pleasant, it is quiet and rural and the bustle can be reached within 20 minutes. Alghero, which is a very attractive harbor town, is a 20-minute drive away. This also applies to the beach. In short, great location!
Wonderfully quiet, but strategically located for excursions. Room is simple but fine. Large garden with swimming pool. Simple breakfast. We were not allowed to experience dinner because there were not enough people for it. Owner is very helpful and cordial. She paid our parking fine for us (not paying attention after June 1th) from her own account. Very sweet!
