Beautiful beach resort in Palau in North-East Sardinia, a few kilometers away from the famous Costa Smeralda. If you have ever been to this part of the island, you are probably familiar with the beautiful view of the archipelago of La Maddalena. The holiday homes on offer are ideally located for a relaxing beach holiday in Sardinia, surrounded by nature and breathtaking landscapes of the Costa Smeralda.
The from the, resort located on the bay of Saline (Golfo delle Saline in Italian) you will enjoy views of the gulf and the crystal clear sea from everywhere. There is no pool at this property but the private beach is only 400 meters away!
These holiday homes are elegantly furnished, and surrounded by mediterranean vegetation like olive trees and fragrant Mediterranean shrubs; the perfect place to unwind. Each holiday home has its own garden with furnished terrace and a well-equipped kitchen with, among other things, a dishwasher, oven and microwave. The holiday homes also have a washing machine, air conditioning/heating, satellite TV, hair dryer, iron and a safe. There is a barbecue in the garden and an outdoor shower. You can park at the holiday home.
The resort has a beach bar, the Mali Beach Bar, a nice place to have a drink and relax on the lounge sofas, or you can also have breakfast at the beach bar every morning during high season (€). The private beach with snow-white sand and crystal clear waters is one of the amenities that makes this property so perfect. The beach has natural shade and the resort provides you with 2 sun loungers, a parasol and one beach towel per person. These are issued on the basis of the Comfort Card, which is included from 1 June to 9 September. Extra umbrellas and sunbeds can be rented. Open from 9am to 8pm between 1 June and 9 September, the bar offers a real Italian espresso with a sweet roll, a light lunch or an aperitif at sunset. In the summer there is also entertainment with music and fun until the late hours.
At the reception you can find various services that can increase the holiday fun, such as car rental, rental of bicycles, quads, motorbikes, motorboats and excursions.

Mali Beach residence is located in the shadow of the Capo d'Orso, 5 km from Palau. The bear rock - La Roccia dell'Orso - thus formed by nature, was used in the past as a navigation point for ships in the Mediterranean. The sea and the wind have shaped the granite rock into a bear and it is possible to see the rock up close. Be careful at the end of this 540 meter walk, the road surface is bad. If it rains or is very windy, you may be refused entry. From the belly of the bear, a beautiful view of La Maddalena can be enjoyed and in clear weather even Corsica can be observed!
There is also plenty to do in the vicinity of Palau for nature explorers and culture lovers. You can visit the archipelago of Maddalena by boat. The Archipelago consists of a number of islands of which La Maddalena is the most important and the only one inhabited. For culture enthusiasts, the city of Santa Teresa, located a few kilometers from Palau, is an ideal destination for a day trip. The town overlooks the Strait of Bonifacio and the historic center is very pleasant to stroll and allows for several hours of relaxation and shopping.
Sardinia has about 7000 Nuragic sites, spread over the island. The Nuraghi are towers built in Sardinia during the Bronze Age. Towers made of stone blocks stacked dry on top of each other, they belong to the most important archaeological heritage of Sardinia. The most famous Nuraghi are those of Su Nuraxi di Barumini, found in Media Campidano. A number of Nuraghi are located near Palau.

Another archaeological heritage site can be found near Porto Rafael. Here is an old but useful fortress of the Sardinian coast, la Fortezza di Monte Altura. Since its construction in 1887-1889, this fortress has been given the title of 'the most beautiful fortress in Europe'. That is why we think that you should not miss this during your stay at Mali Beach Resort! From the fortress you can enjoy a beautiful view of La Maddalena, Corsica and the Bocche di Bonifacio. Today the fortress is open for visitors and guided tours are available. a guide possible. In summer the fortress is also used for events and concerts.
Also, you cannot miss the traditional gastronomy in Palau during your stay at Mali Beach Residence. Go out and get to know the delicious wines and typical dishes of Sardinia. The climatic factors of Sardinia play an important role in making the well-known Canonnau wine. In addition to delicious wines, Sardinia also has some special liqueurs, the best known of which is probably Mirto, made from the berries of the Myrtle bush.
