In the city you will find various cultural attractions such as Il Castello, the Elephant Tower and the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Cagliari. Il Castello is located on the highest and oldest point of Cagliari. From Il Castello you have a beautiful view of the new city below. Near Il Castello is the Elephant Tower, which served as a defence tower against the Moors and Genoese. Do not forget to take an ice cream at the ice cream parlour in the street near the Elephant Tower, recommended!
In Cagliari’s area, you will find amazing beaches where you can relax during your holiday, such as Poetto (that you can reach by bus), Chia and Capitana. Along the coast at Cagliari, in the lagoon, groups of flamingos and other bird species can be admired all year around.
Cagliari’s Airport is approximately 10 km away and can be reached in a 10-minute drive.
Chia 54 km, Capitana 25 km, Villasimius 60 km, Sant Antioco 89 km, Muravera 72 km, Oristano 93 km, Alghero 247 km (2.5 hours drive).
The two of us stayed one night in this B&B. The location was excellent. We were close to everything. A supermarket (Crai) a few blocks away and especially many cozy terraces. We have parked the car, which could not have been closer, in the large parking lot behind the station. A tenner for 24 hours, that was not too bad. Everything done on foot. The room was spacious, but the Wifi was bad. We have opened the door several times. That did help. The manager, Sandro, was very friendly and helpful with explanations. Still recommended.
