Hotel Seta
Hotel Seta is a cosy hotel right in the center of the idyllic fishing village of Calasetta on the Sant Antioco peninsula in the extreme southwest corner of Sardinia, easily accessible from the capital Cagliari. This is a small family business, where the sisters Claudia and Laura welcome you with open arms and mom is also present every day to pamper the guests, starting with an abundant delicious breakfast.
The hotel has 27 comfortable rooms, including several family rooms. All rooms have air conditioning and Wi-Fi.
From the hotel you look out over the picturesque village of Calasetta, with its labyrinth of small streets that bring to a pleasant historic center and the central village piazza. A 2 minutes’ walk is all it takes to reach the harbour, where you can make the crossing (approx. 30 minutes by boat, departures every hour) to the Isola di San Pietro and visit the village of Carloforte.
At the harbour you can enjoy the local dishes at one of the cozy restaurants and bars. We recommend the daily fresh fish on the menu at the ristorante Perla, where you as a guest of Hotel Seta receive preferential treatment and can pay at a discount.
Within walking distance, you will find one of the beautiful sandy beaches of the island (Sottotorre) where you can enjoy a dip in the crystal clear water and sunbathe undisturbed without the nuisance of mass tourism.
Highly recommended for a stay of 3 days during a tour of Sardinia - you can of course also stay a week or longer.

The hotel is located on the island of Sant Antioco (in Sardinian: Isula 'and Santu Antiogu) which is in the extreme southwest of the island and is connected to Sardinia by a bridge and an artificial isthmus. This is the fourth island in terms of size of the Italian national territory (108.9 km²), immediately after Elba, which is more than twice as big.
Just above Sant Antioco is the little sister island of San Pietro, which you can reach in 30 minutes from Calasetta. You take on of the ships that leave every hour from the port of Calasetta, the departure point is only a 2-minute walk from your hotel. You arrive in the town of Carloforte where you can have a walk in the picturesque town and try the wonderful fresh fish dishes at one of the typical restaurants.
Sant Antioco Island is of volcanic origin with a rocky western coast characterized by vertical cliffs and steep cliffs, interspersed with a number of caves, bays and a few beautiful beaches.
The east coast overlooking Sardinia has a low and sandy coast that reaches to the point of the isthmus connecting the island to Sardinia. Here you will find large sandy beaches lined by dunes and vegetation.
The island is geographically divided into two areas, the southern part is managed by the municipality of Sant 'Antioco and the northern part by the town of Calasetta.
Sant Antioco is the a great place to explore by bicycle or mountain bike or hiking on the marked routes all over the island.
For divers, it is a true paradise here - far from mass tourism, you can discover the beautiful underwater world in crystal clear water here.
For the ones who want to know about the local history, a visit to the Archaeological museum at Sant Antioco is definitely worthwhile - you will find an extensive collection of antiquities found in the several Phoenician, Punic and Roman archaeological sites of the island.
